How it is worked out
To add tax, each component is the amount times its rate, rounded to the paisa, fils or baisa. To take tax out, the amount is divided by one plus the total rate to find the value before tax, and the components are worked out from that. CGST and SGST are each half of the GST rate.
Which tax goes on the quotation
- Client in the same Indian state: CGST and SGST.
- Client in another Indian state: IGST at the full rate.
- UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain: VAT at the country’s standard rate.
- Not registered for GST or VAT: no tax lines at all.
Interior Quote applies these on every quotation automatically; see how to set up tax. Tax rules change, so confirm rates for your own work with your accountant.
